During my first rotation as an adfellow in 2021, I had the opportunity to design a social media campaign and digital calendar for Black History Month at the community. As the visual lead on the project, the guiding principle was to celebrate Black History and black culture. We embraced the principle in a fun and nontraditional way. By not using the typically BHM colors and creating the bubbly hand-drawn type, we created a way to showcase black culture in an authentic way.
