Speakeasy Summit is a traveling conference to celebrate and educate bartenders, owners, and, cocktail enthusiasts about current and future establishment in their neighborhoods. The summit will travel around the country to promote local bars, taverns and the future of spirits with talks, workshops, and more.
The Speakeasy Summit is greatly influenced by the Prohibition. Many of the phases, names, and topics came from the Prohibition. One of the biggest inspirations was Texas Guinan. She was an actress, producer, and entrepreneur during Prohibition, who also was the emcee and hostess of many establishments during the 1920s. I used her catchphrases "Hey Suckers!" as a fun way to address people. In the spirit of Texas Guinan, the Speakeasy Summit is a space of celebration, education, and a good time.
